Description

Ok, so I updated the chest... sure if it was in time for the contest, but it was just driving me crazy the way the shading looked before.

Oh wow, first person writing for me is a very challenging area.  Whoever decided on this piece was right on with this round.  It really forces me to get into the head of my character... it also forced me to pull back on some of my vocabulary and try to really stick to the voice of the character.  I had to rewrite things a couple times, but honestly I really enjoyed the challenge.  It has been nice to work on developing my own skills a little.

Entry Writing:

So I never was a big public speaker... honestly, I still am not much of a speaker in general.  I can have trouble finding the right words and my tone of voice, well it just doesn't change anymore.  So I admit I haven't exactly been proactive in seeking out members of our sisterhood. However, it seems they were destined to find me.  After my encounter with 133 and our very short communication with the darkness, more senshi have started appearing around me.  For someone as isolated as myself, it has been quite unnerving, and with every encounter the sounds from the darkness have become more and more prevalent.

Finally when I thought I couldn't take anymore something appeared at my door. I still think it was from Red... but I can't prove it. It was a shiny black box about the size of a cigar box, but a bit deeper.  At first I couldn't do anything with it. As I sat at my kitchen table the darn thing wouldn't budge, it would just glisten in the light even as it seemed to absorb all the light around it.  Finally I took it to my 'dark room' hoping it would at least clear my mind and give me some new thoughts on opening it.  That was all it took, the box clicked open revealing 4 small orbs, as black as the box itself.  A sudden sense of longing combined with an overwhelming sadness washed over me.  These little objects were connected to me in some way, and I could feel it in my bones that they were something that I never should have forgotten.

I reached down and picked up one of the orbs and cradled it in my hand. It was overwhelming, all I could see was red and orange, and all I could feel was a searing heat. The heat painfully washed over my body and I could feel a change taking place. When I finally opened my eyes, the orb was floating in the air in front of me.  A small sun shinning out of its center. The small sun that used to sit in my Barnard strip along with her three sisters.  How had I forgot them? They were the light to my shadows...  Suddenly I remembered what had happened and I wish I wouldn't have.  All I could hope was the same fate was not in store for NGC 6402.
